Face masks are great for giving your skin a new lease of life. Face masks can help balance your skin and are great for getting rid of dead skin cells. You can find and make face masks for every skin type from oily and greasy to dry and flaky. Here are some simple face mask recipes to help you to revive and rejuvenate tired, dried out skin.

Avocado face mask; one of the most tried and tested of homemade face masks avocado is a delicious (but please don’t eat it for this task) way to moisturize your skin. Mash the avocado and add a teaspoon of honey. The honey can kill germs on the surface of the skin and also reduce inflammation. Combine the two ingredients and spread on skin, do not rub in. Let the avocado and honey refresh your skin for 10-15 minutes.

For a moisturizing and soothing homemade facemask try egg whites and yogurt. Separate two egg whites and mix in two tablespoons of plain yogurt, do not use flavored. Spread evenly over your face paying attention to dry areas such as your forehead and chin. Leave on for 5-7 minutes and rinse thoroughly with warm water.

Heavy cream and honey facemask; mix one tablespoon of heavy cream with one tablespoon of honey and one gram of baking soda. Similar to the benefits of avocado and honey, this mask will revive tired looking skin and reduce redness thanks to the healing properties of the honey. The most unusual but incredibly effective homemade face mask is the ‘kitty litter’ face mask. Kitty litter is said to contain the same natural clay as found in $100 spa products. Make sure when you’re choosing your kitty litter ingredient that it contains sodium betonite clay or 100% natural clay.

Mix in a couple tablespoons of kitty litter with water and some essential oils to make the recipe less kitty litter like. The essential oil will also help revive the skin. Apply the mask to your face and leave for 15 minutes. Wash off with warm water or a warm wash cloth.

Other key ingredients for homemade face masks include bananas, coconut milk, cucumber and olive oil. Mix them up and see what you can come up with. Many face mask recipes can be found online and are easy to make. You may have everything you need in your own pantry.
